Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a person have more than one role?

No — each user has exactly one role. The roles are designed so that higher roles include everything below them. An Admin can do everything a Manager can, a Manager can do everything a Contributor can, and so on.

Can I change a user's role after they've been invited?

Yes. Admins can change any user's role from Settings > Users at any time. The user receives an email notification when their role changes. Role changes take effect immediately.

What's the difference between a Manager and a Contributor?

Contributors upload and maintain documents but cannot assign training, certify completions, or view organization-wide reports. Managers do all of that. Contributors are ideal for subject-matter experts who maintain procedures but don't manage the training program.

Can a Manager approve documents if I only want certain managers to do that?

Yes. Training Tiger has a per-manager "Document Approver" flag that admins can enable or disable individually. This lets you designate specific managers as document approvers without creating a separate role.

How many admins can I have?

There's no limit on the number of admins. For smaller teams, one admin is typical. Larger organizations often have two or three to cover absences and distribute responsibility.
